Business, financial evidence and documented connections to the AI buildout.
Dedicated cloud infrastructure and support
Akamai provides cloud infrastructure alongside security and content-delivery services. Its new dedicated-cloud agreement extends its role into supplying and supporting large-scale computing infrastructure. The economics involve construction and operation of a service platform, rather than simply reselling GPUs to a customer.

Second-quarter 2026 starting point
Akamai reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of approximately $1.100 billion, including about $99 million from cloud infrastructure services. Operating cash flow was $326 million and cash and securities totaled $4.616 billion. The cloud figure includes more than AI workloads and predates the new project’s revenue ramp.
Signed plans precede service delivery
Project plans signed in September 2026 commit approximately $11.6 billion over seven years, conditional on delivery and service. An additional potential $9 billion is optional. The signed scope establishes a substantial commercial commitment, but service had not yet begun under the announced schedule.
Spending comes before the revenue ramp
Akamai estimated $5.5 billion of cumulative capital expenditure, including approximately $1.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2026 without project revenue that quarter. Service was planned to start late in the second quarter of 2027, with $150 million to $300 million of project revenue during 2027.
Supply, service obligations and dilution
The arrangement includes outage and security-breach termination provisions, procurement involving approximately $1.7 billion of memory through Jabil, and a warrant for up to 7.7 million common-share equivalents. Infrastructure availability, supply timing and ongoing service quality therefore affect both delivery and shareholder economics.
Track the path to the full ramp
The company projected approximately $1.7 billion of annual revenue after reaching full run rate by the end of 2028. Capital deployment and the initial service launch will precede that outcome. The November 5, 2026 results call is scheduled, although its notice does not promise a project-specific update.
Documented project connections
Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.
No named tracked-project role has been established by the evidence used for this profile. This does not mean the company has no AI exposure.
Evidence boundaries
Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.
This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
