Financial context
At Q2 2026, total annual recurring revenue was $1.125 billion and AI Customer ARR was $234 million. The latter includes all spending by customers using at least one AI or machine-learning product, so its 20.8% share is not an AI-only revenue percentage.
Products and delivery
DigitalOcean signed its first customer commitments with nine-figure annual values. Remaining performance obligations totaled $894 million, including $366 million expected to become revenue within twelve months. Contracted obligations still require service delivery before they become recognized revenue.
Plans and commitments
The company committed to an additional 20 MW of capacity for 2027–2028, bringing total committed capacity to 155 MW. Those amounts describe contractual expansion plans; they should not be read as capacity already commissioned or currently serving customers.
Economics and dependencies
Long-duration customer contracts need available computing capacity, reliable service and sufficient customer consumption. Funding and equipment obligations also matter: the company’s non-GAAP free-cash-flow measure excludes equipment financing and leases, which can create cash commitments outside that headline measure.
What to watch
Future updates should separate newly operational capacity from contracted future capacity and show conversion of performance obligations into sales. Cash demands associated with equipment and leases are important alongside recurring-revenue growth. AI Customer ARR will continue to include customers’ non-AI purchases.
Documented project connections
Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.
No named tracked-project role has been established by the evidence used for this profile. This does not mean the company has no AI exposure.
Evidence boundaries
Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.
This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
