Financial context
For Q2 2026, IBM reported $17.2 billion of revenue, including $7.8 billion in Software and $5.3 billion in Consulting. Operating cash flow was $2.6 billion and free cash flow was $2.5 billion. These segments include significant non-AI activity.
Products and delivery
Self-hosted IBM Bob is generally available, including deployment options for on-premises and air-gapped environments. Lightwell Network also reached general availability with more than 6,500 remediated, signed dependencies. Clearinghouse Premier has limited commercial onboarding, initially concentrated in financial services.
Plans and commitments
IBM described a $5 billion Lightwell investment commitment and plans to expand the network from thousands toward millions of dependencies. Planned onboarding extends to government, healthcare and telecommunications. The commitment describes intended investment, rather than revenue or cash already spent.
Economics and dependencies
Expansion depends on customer adoption and legal and geographic onboarding requirements. IBM’s historical generative-AI book of business combined revenue, annual contract value and signings, so it cannot serve as an AI revenue percentage. Lightwell-specific sales and profitability remain undisclosed.

What to watch
Paid onboarding, subscription conversion and deployment breadth will clarify commercial scale. Future reports can show whether AI productivity supports wider margins, while Bob and Lightwell contributions should remain separate from aggregate software growth and from the stated investment commitment.

Documented project connections
Each connection below has a specific, cited role. A supplier, lender, customer or proposed acquirer has different economics from the project owner.
No named tracked-project role has been established by the evidence used for this profile. This does not mean the company has no AI exposure.
Evidence boundaries
Company totals, segment sales, bookings, backlog, spending, capacity and usage describe different things. They do not establish project-level revenue, earnings or an exact AI-only revenue share unless the cited disclosure explicitly says so.
This is a dated research snapshot. Forecasts are attributed expectations, and undisclosed amounts remain unknown. Source review does not certify every project or future outcome.
