The one-minute investment takeaway

Our analysis: Power acquisition does not equal delivered AI computing. Muskogee separates a contracted customer development from a much larger acquired-power expansion opportunity. Existing electricity service is valuable readiness evidence, yet conversion to usable high-density computing still requires facilities and accepted customer deployments. Gross power, original leased customer MW and future expansion targets must stay separate. The acquisition payment buys a platform and rights, not instant GPU service revenue. Utility exposure runs through OGE Energy, while the contractor is private. Expansion returns depend on customer commitments and funded phased capital.

Readiness basis: Classification of evidence in the reviewed profile; strongest documented phase, not full-campus completion. Contracted construction and existing power-service evidence; much larger expansion remains planned Readiness source →

What the sources establish

Who receives the money?

Our analysis of disclosed roles. Revenue routes are business-model interpretations, not estimates of booked project revenue.

Company / exposureEconomic roleWhat investors need to establish
Core Scientific (CORZ)Operator / owner: property rent or computing service contribution according to the business modelAccepted phases, retained margin, financing and maintenance obligations.
Named customers or resource providersPayments for contracted services or resource delivery where the source identifies a relationshipConfirm scope and contracts; broad ecosystem demand does not establish a supplier order.
Other contractors and equipment suppliersPotential construction and refresh receiptsDo not assign undisclosed vendors, earnings or contract values.

How financially meaningful is it?

Our analysis: Muskogee separates a contracted customer development from a much larger acquired-power expansion opportunity.

How to test the economics

Expansion value = incremental contracted contribution after conversion, infrastructure capital, acquisition basis and financing; power capacity alone has no disclosed compute margin.

Hypothetical illustration: A hypothetical 100 MW conversion with USD 5 million per MW construction spending requires USD 500 million before customer computing equipment. These assumptions are not Muskogee costs.

Milestones that would change the assessment

MilestoneEvidence to watch
Evidence of deliveryA dated phase acceptance record showing usable equipment, power and cooling; separate previous targets from observed completion.
Recurring economicsOriginal phase acceptance and funded expansion with new customer commitments
Capital and operating reconciliationSeparate property construction, computing hardware, reimbursed costs and financing; distinguish operating cash receipts from revenue recognition.

What could break the investment case?

Our analysis: Combining the original 70 MW with 440 MW acquired power and 1.5 GW ambition would inflate capacity. Tariffs, power continuity, conversion cost and execution remain important.

What would change our view?

Our analysis: Phase-specific customer acceptance, sustained useful workloads and cash generation after recurring costs would strengthen our assessment. Missed acceptance, deteriorating margins or additional capital required without equivalent contract protection would weaken it. A larger design envelope alone would not change the operating assessment.

What remains unknown

Current phase utilization, site-specific cash flow, customer acceptance detail, actual tariff, measured PUE, maintenance obligations and incremental capital returns are not fully disclosed in the reviewed sources. Coordinates represent the named locality or campus vicinity, not a surveyed building. A target date is not a verified completion. Readiness means the documented state above; no blanket “shovel ready” designation is inferred from a marketing page.

Project research for information, not a buy recommendation. Financial illustrations use assumptions, not disclosed site results or management guidance.
