Publication standards
Source verification standards
Policy updated October 13, 2026
Verification concerns individual claims, not simply the number of links on a page. Multiple articles repeating one announcement are not independent confirmation.
Project profiles
New project additions require at least four distinct, relevant, accessible documents, including project-specific government evidence, primary evidence and independent reporting. Existing coverage may not yet meet that threshold; each page’s stated evidence and limits control. A general economic-development announcement is government context, not proof of a permit or operation.
Spotlight reporting
Spotlight articles require at least three verifiable documents, including primary evidence and independent reporting. Search snippets and inaccessible articles cannot substantiate material claims.
Claim checks
- Match the legal entity, location and project phase before associating a record with a project.
- Record document dates and distinguish publication, review and target dates.
- Keep campus power, IT load, renewable generation and phase capacity separate.
- Distinguish applications, approvals, financing, construction, energization and customer delivery.
- Attribute company-reported statements; retain contradictions and missing evidence.
- Do not infer supplier contracts, revenue or earnings from proximity or a company logo.
Corrections
A material correction should state the earlier claim, corrected claim, supporting source and actual correction date. A routine page edit must not imply that every linked source was rechecked.
